Short answer, as of 20 October 2026: no, you cannot stream GTA V on JioGames right now. The title briefly appeared in the JioGames library in late June 2026 and was gone by mid-July, according to many users who tried it. JioGames has not announced a return date, and because the service is built for India, the other streaming options further down will suit most readers. Below you will see the full timeline, how the JioGames service works, what it costs, and the legal routes that do let you stream the game to a smartphone or TV today.
If you reached this page from our GTA 5 apk guide, one point matters before anything else: the game does not run natively on Android or iPhone, and no official app exists. Streaming from a remote server or from your own PC or console is the only genuine way to see Los Santos on a handset. Any download promising the full game as an installable Android file is fake or pirated, and often carries malware.

Is GTA 5 on JioGames Right Now?
No. We checked the JioGames website and the library listing on 20 October 2026, and the game is not there. Here is how the story unfolded:
| Date | What happened | Source |
|---|---|---|
| January 2025 | News reports said Reliance Jio was working on a streaming platform that could carry big titles like GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. No official confirmation followed at the time. | Cashify news report (rumour) |
| Late June 2026 | Users spotted GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 in the JioGames library and streamed them on the Pro Pass. | User reports on Reddit (r/Indiangamers) |
| 14–15 July 2026 | The same users reported both titles had been removed. Some had bought a pass only to stream them. | User reports on Reddit (r/IndianGaming, r/Indiangamers) |
| 20 October 2026 | Neither title appears in the JioGames library, and GTA V is not on the list of Steam titles supported by its Steam-linked install feature. | Our check of jiogames.com |
JioGames did not publish a statement about the June addition or the July removal, so treat the exact dates as user-reported. Streaming licences are often short, which is likely what happened here.
What the June test showed. Reports from people in the gaming community who tried the brief window were mixed. Some said the stream looked smooth on a good fibre line; others described a blurry picture, noticeable input delay and the odd disconnect, especially on busy evenings. That matches what you would expect from any streamed title: the quality depends far more on your Wi-Fi than on your handset.
How to check the library yourself. Because the catalogue changes, do not rely on old YouTube videos or social posts; you will learn more from the app in ten seconds. Open the JioGames app or website, sign in with your number and search the library for “Grand Theft”. If you cannot find it there, the title is not available.
How the JioGames Service Works on Your Phone
JioGames Cloud is the game-streaming side of Reliance Jio’s JioGames platform. Instead of installing a game, you watch a video stream of it running on a remote server and send your button presses back over the internet. That is why a modest Android device can show a demanding PC title, as long as the connection holds up.
According to the JioGames FAQ, the service works on:
- Android smartphones and tablets through the JioGames app on the Google app store.
- iPhones through the JioGames app on the App Store.
- Laptops and desktops through Chrome or Edge (version 100 or newer) at cloudplay.jiogames.com.
- Jio Set-Top Box through the JioGames app on the JioApp Store.
- Android TV sets through the JioGames app from the Google store.
You do not need a Jio SIM. The FAQ says the service is tuned for Jio users but open to anyone with a stable connection, and the same subscription works across every supported device once you sign in. You do need an Indian number, though: the sign-in screen asks for a +91 number and a one-time code, and the site describes the service as being for India, so it is not a practical choice without one.
The passes listed on the website on 20 October 2026 look like this:
| Pass | Price shown (approx. USD) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile Pass | ₹111 (about $1.20) for 56 days | Premium catalogue on handsets |
| Pro Pass | ₹398 (about $4.20) for 28 days (shorter 7-day and 3-day options also listed) | Catalogue on TV, PC, tablet and handset, controller support, Bring Your Own Games |
| 1 Year Pro Pass + controller | ₹2,999 (about $31.50) per year | Pro Pass for a year with a gaming controller included |
JioGames sells passes only in Indian rupees; the dollar figures are our rough conversions at the 20 October 2026 exchange rate of about ₹95 to $1. These are the prices on jiogames.com when we checked; offers change often, so confirm in the app before paying. The website also notes that Install & Play, the feature that streams Steam titles you already own, will no longer be included with Pro Pass purchases after 1 November 2026. None of these passes currently includes GTA V.
Is a pass worth buying without it? Only if other titles interest you. The JioGames site advertises a large catalogue (its pages quote both “over 500” and “1000+” titles), and the short passes are a cheap way to test stream quality before committing to a month.
For the smoothest experience, JioGames asks for a 5G or 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection, and suggests a wired connection where possible on a computer. The same applies when you stream on a phone or tablet: stay close to the router. A shaky 4G signal or low internet speed leads to blur, stutter and delay, which ruins fast driving and shooting. A Bluetooth controller makes a big difference on a smartphone screen, and JioGames lists the controllers it supports on its website. Streaming also uses a lot of data, so watch any data cap on your plan.

Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce NOW and Other Legal Options
With JioGames out of the picture for now, and limited to India anyway, these are the realistic routes in October 2026. Some work for this game and some, despite the hype, do not. Prices below are US list prices; they vary by region, so check the local store before you pay.
| Option | Where it works | Does it stream GTA V today? | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Cloud Gaming (with Game Pass) | Selected countries | No. The title left Game Pass on 15 April 2026 and was not added to “stream your own game”. | |
| NVIDIA GeForce NOW | Many regions | No. It is not on NVIDIA’s public list of supported titles (checked 20 October 2026). | |
| Steam Link (streaming from your own PC) | No regional limit | Yes, if you own the PC version and your PC is switched on. | |
| Sony’s remote app for PlayStation | No regional limit | Yes, from your own PS5 or PS4 with the disc or digital copy. | |
| Microsoft’s console app (remote streaming) | No regional limit | Yes, from your own Series X | S or One console. |
Microsoft’s service. Microsoft’s streaming service is part of Game Pass Ultimate, which costs $22.99 a month in the US after a price cut on 21 April 2026, according to Microsoft’s official blog, which notes that prices vary by region. However, the game left the Game Pass catalogue on 15 April 2026, as Video Games Chronicle reported, and users confirmed it did not stay in the “stream your own game” section, so even owners of the console version cannot stream it from Microsoft’s servers at the moment.
NVIDIA GeForce NOW. NVIDIA’s streaming service runs in many regions. US list prices are $9.99 a month for Performance and $19.99 for Ultimate, with day passes at $3.99 and $7.99; other countries have their own pricing. It streams games you already own on Steam, Epic and other stores. Unfortunately, the title has not been supported for years, and it is absent from NVIDIA’s public supported list as of our check, so a GeForce NOW plan will not help here.
Streaming from hardware you own. The routes that do work today rely on hardware you or a friend already own:
- Steam Link: the Steam store page for the Enhanced PC version lists remote streaming to smartphones and tablets as a feature. Install the free Steam Link app on Android, keep your PC on the same network, and stream the game from your PC to the handset.
- PlayStation: install Sony’s official remote app, link your PlayStation account and stream from your own PS5 or PS4 at home.
- Microsoft consoles: the official console app can stream titles installed on your own Series X|S or One to a handset.
These options are legal and include GTA Online access if your copy has it, but they still need a decent gaming PC or console at home and a strong Wi-Fi signal. For most players, the best strategy is simple: manage your expectations, keep an eye on the JioGames library, and treat any offer of a free, unlimited stream of the game as a scam. Official news about the game comes from Rockstar Games and the service providers themselves, not from random apps.
Before paying for any streaming pass, run through this quick checklist:
- Search the service’s own library for the exact title you want, on the day you buy.
- Run a free or cheap short test on your home Wi-Fi at the time of day you usually game.
- Check whether the pass renews by itself and how to cancel it.

Other Streaming Services That Carry GTA V
Two subscription services and the rented-PC route do stream the game today, based on our checks on 20 October 2026:
- PlayStation Plus Premium: the PlayStation store page for the PS5 version lists streaming from Sony’s servers as supported with a Premium membership. The title joined the Extra and Premium Game Catalog on 18 November 2025, and a PlayStation notice reported by GamingBible says it leaves the catalogue on 17 November 2026. Premium members can also stream a digital PS5 copy they own. This works on a PS5 console or a PlayStation Portal, not on handsets.
- Boosteroid: this browser and app service streams PC copies you already own on Steam, the Epic Games Store or Rockstar’s own launcher. A Boosteroid support representative confirmed in August 2026 that story mode and multiplayer both work.
- Rented cloud PCs such as Shadow: you pay for a full Windows machine in a data centre, install your own copy and stream the desktop to any screen.
Membership prices differ by country. As with any streamed title, a stable, low-latency connection matters more than raw speed: Sony asks for at least 5 Mbps and recommends about 23 Mbps for 1080p.
Whichever route you use, our guide on how to crouch in GTA 5 covers stealth and cover controls on every platform.
FAQs
Is GTA V available on JioGames in October 2026?
No. It appeared briefly in late June 2026 and users reported its removal around 14–15 July 2026. It was not in the library when we checked on 20 October 2026.
Do I need a Jio SIM to use JioGames?
No. The JioGames FAQ says anyone with a stable connection can use it, although it is tuned for Jio networks.
Can I stream the game through Microsoft’s Game Pass?
Not at the moment. It left Game Pass on 15 April 2026 and was not kept in the “stream your own game” section.
Is there any free, unlimited way to stream it?
No legitimate one. Free “unlimited” streaming links and downloadable files claiming to be the full game are scams or piracy. Streaming from your own PC or console with Steam Link or Sony’s remote app is the legal route.
What speed do I need for smooth streaming?
JioGames recommends 5 GHz Wi-Fi or a wired connection. Fast-paced titles also need a stable, low-latency link, so a crowded 4G signal is rarely good enough.
